Help

If you've arrived at this page you must be stuck.

If it's general wiki use you are interested in then you need to first sign up for a wiki account. If it's tips for how to use the Wiki that gets a little more tricky.

Generally if you are just putting up text then it's pretty simple. You just type as normal. If you want to fancy it up a bit there are a few standard options available from the tool bar at the top of the text box. Things like Bold Italics, etc… If there are more specific tricks you want then check out the Wiki Syntax page. It's really the main source for how things work. You can then go to the Playground and try out various things to see how it looks.

If it's for more broad help on how to setup a new area or best practices and such. Then please head to the forums (you'll have to sign up there separately) and ask.

Create a Page

There are two ways to create a page.

The dirty way is to do a search for something (using the search bar on the left). This will take you to a page with your search results. There may be some search results for your new page because the terms could exist on another page. However look at the block that starts “You Are Here: “ You'll see it shows the page you where searching for in that breadcrumb trail. Click on that page and it will take you to another screen with a big “This topic does not exist yet” title on it.

Once there look near the top of the screen where the tabs say “Article, Discussion, Create this page, Old revisions, Subscribe Page Changes”. Click on “Create this page” tab and it will go to your new page.

The clean way is to go to the page/section where you want to start the trail. Add a link to your new page, that doesn't yet exist, update that area then click on the link to go to your new page. Which will come to a page that says “This topic does not exist yet”. Like in the dirty method look to the tabs at the top and click on the “Create this page” tab.

The Wiki Syntax section on the left will show you the proper syntax for adding a page as well as all the formating and other things. But the basic format for a link is pagename or Link text.

Wiki pagenames are converted to lowercase automatically, special characters are not allowed. So if you create a link called My Page The actual page will be my_page.

You can also use namespaces by using a colon in the pagename. This is the prefered way to do it because then it creates a hierarchy of pages in the data structure. So you could have My Page.

Templates

This area is to keep an index of various templates for use on the wiki.
